The Analysis of Boundary of Laboratory Test Information That is Referred on Internet

Abstract

BACKGROUND: There was no minimal standard on the information of laboratory test in internet. So we have used all information about tests, however it was necessary to adjust the boundary of information according to the level of users.
METHODS
The materials were the homepage of referral center in Asan Medical Center. Referring physicians were able to browse the list of their patients by putting their identification number and password. At the next, the physicians chose the patients and saw the test results to be displayed. We decided the boundary of information of tests by the advice of laboratory expert and surveyed the tendency of users.
RESULTS
We decided the useful suggestion of laboratory test information on internet. The users didn't want the precise information, but the information of variable tests. They answered that the information was useful for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis on patients.
CONCLUSIONS
If it is fulfilled to continue the upgrade and improvement on the test information, the speed of the exchange and standardization for tests are excelled. So we will know what the effective informations of laboratory tests in internet are.
