Figure

  • Fig. 1 Abdominal plain X-ray showed threadlike linear calcifications in the shape of branches alongside the entire colon.

  • Fig. 2 Contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography scan showed extensive calcifications throughout the mesenteric veins. Additionally, findings suggestive of ischemia, multiple ulcers, and bowel wall thickening were observed in the entire colorectum.

  • Fig. 3 Sigmoidoscopy showed dark red mucosa, mucosal edema, and multiple deep ulcers of various sizes throughout the (A) rectum, (B) sigmoid colon, and (C) descending colon.

  • Fig. 4 Pathologic findings of surgical specimen. (A) Microscopic findings showed inflammatory cell infiltration and necrosis (H&E ×40). (B) Several veins or venules exhibited sclerosis, hyalinization, and calcification, both intramurally and extramurally. Furthermore, a specific focal area displayed near-total occlusion of the venous lumen, characterized by hyalinization and calcification (H&E ×40).
