Abstract

This review paper summarises our current state of knowledge on the use of coronary CT angiography(CCTA) for assessing coronary stenosis, use of anatomical CCTA combined withfunctional CT to assess for myocardial ischemia, as well as using CCTA for detection of highrisk plaque and plaque burden. We currently still have some difficulty to convert the currentlyavailable extensive research findings into clinical practice. There also remains gaps inour knowledge regarding clinical use of CCTA that will require newer more innovative futuretechnological advances in both hardware and software, as well as more multicentre trialsto better enable CCTA to be used in clinical decision making.
