Report of two cases of tuberculosis of pubis

Abstract

Two cases of the tuberculosis of pubis were reported which confirmed by the X-ray and microscopic findings, acase was 12 years old boy, and the other was 13 years old boy, who complained tenderness and moderate swelling over the symphysis pubis region, slight limping gait, and local redness and hotness. Their family histories werenot contributory. The X-ray findings of the chest showed the old hilar lymphadenopathy with almost fibro consolidated patterns, and the pelvis showed the destructions of the pubis with sequestrums and hazy shadows around the pubis, but no evidence of any productive bony changes. The operation was done, and the specimen showed the edematous connective tissues infiltrated with chronic inflammatory cells and granulomatas, which were composed of the epitheloid cells, macrophages, fibroblasts and small round cells.
