Abstract

The eleven infants with acute intussusception in the range of 2-12 months old were admitted to the SacredHeart Hospital in the period from October 6, 1976 to October 4, 1977, and the intussusception were reduced nicelyby the means controlled air insufflation in all cases. The mean pressure bringing the best visualization of theintussusceptum and the fovorite reduction of intussusception was 59mm Hg. and another mean pressure giving rise togood reduction of all the ileocolic intussusception was 90mm Hg. of the air. This method was so saft and simplethat "controlled air insufflation" is recommendable to be applied safely without contraindication for diagnosisand treatment of intussusception, particalarly in the infants.
