The radiological estimations of acetabular angle, iliac angle, iliac index and pelvic index of normal Korean newborns and infants

Abstract

The radiological measurement of acetabular angle, iliac angle, iliac index and pelvic index were evaluated in 21 normal Korean infants and 49 newborns who were born in Chosun university Hospital from Apr. 1st, 1974 to Jun.10th, 1974. The results obtained in this study were as followings ; 1) In normal new-borns (49) a. The mean ofacetabular angle was 28.72+4.6 b. The mean of iliac angle was 50+4.6 c. The mean of iliac index was 78.61+6.1 d.The mean of pelvic index was 28.883+1 2) The results of these measurements were somewhat smaller in comparisonwith European. 3) Acetabular angle and iliac angle were somewhat decreased in the process of growing as European.
