Clinical Observation on the Bladder Tumor

Abstract

A clinical observation was made on 78 cases of bladder tumor admitted to the Department of Urology, Medical School, Jeonbug National University during the period from January, 1978 to June, 1983.The following results were obtained.1. During the period, 78 cases of bladder tumor among the 2047 total number of in-patients were hospitalized, giving a incidence rate of 3.8%.2. There were 75 males and 3 females with ratio of 25:1,62.8% of the patients were in the age group of 50.69.3. Hematuria was the most common symptom occurred in 92.3%,dysuria in 25.6%, frequency in 23.1% and the others.4. In the majority of case, the tumor was located on the inside of the base of the bladder(34.7%), 65.4% of all cases had multiple lesions.5. Among 68 cases in which I. V. P. was performed, 63.6% of the cases revealed normal upper urinary tract, and filling defect in the bladder were observed in 75.8% of the cases.6. Pathologic examination was possible on 63 cases transitional cell carcinoma occupied 54 cases in 85.6%.7. On treatment of the bladder tumor, T. U. R, was performed on 20 cases, open resection and electrocautery 19 cases and partial cystectomy 9 cases.
