A Case of Granulosa Cell Tumorwith Retroperitoneal Recurrence

Abstract

Granulosa cell tumor is a rare ovarian neoplasm. Its indolent growth usually leads to large tumor a the time of diagnosis. It is characterized by variable and long interval to recurrence in pelvic and peritoneal cavities, but solitary retroperitoneal recurrence is very rare. In general, the retroperitonea tumor should be differentiated from neurogic tumor, lymphoma and other various tumors which are originated from pancreas. At laparotomy, a 43-year-old woman was found to have an oval shaped solid and cystic tumor within the retroperitoneum. Eight years ago, she had total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy due to right ovarian tumor. Histological examination of the retroperi toneal tumor showed histological features that were compatible with granulosa cell tumor of ovary We report a rare case of solitary retroperitoneal granulosa cell tumor with a review of relevan literatures.
