A Case of Gastroduodenal Mucosa Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma Regressed After Helicobacter pylori Eradication
Abstract
- Low-grade (LG) gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma has been shown to be associated with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. However, gastroduodenal MALT lymphoma is rare. We report a case of gastroduodenal MALT lymphoma occurred in a 39-year-old man. It has been regressed after eradication of H. pylori. He was admitted because of epigastric pain. Gastroduodenoscopic findings were erythema, multiple nodules, and erosions on the body and antrum, which were superficially spreading through the first and second portion of duodenum. Endoscopic biopsies revealed the proliferation of centrocyte-like (CCL) cells and lymphoepithelial lesions with lymphoid follicles. Amoxacillin and omeprazole were administrated for 2 weeks under the impression of gastroduodenal LG MALT lymphoma. Three months later, gastroduodenoscopy with biopsy showed the complete regression of LG MALT lymphoma. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report about the regression of gastroduodenal LG MALT lymphoma after H. pylori eradication.
