Abstract

The term of polypoid melanoma was introduced to the medical literature in 1981 by Manci et al. It is a rare morphological variant of nodular melanoma with a distinct exophytic pattern of growth. It is generally believed that the polypoid melanoma is a rapidly growing lesion that is associated with a highly aggressive behavior. However, the prognosis of polypoid melanoma is similar to other melanoma of equivalent Breslow thickness. We report a case of 73-year-old man who was presented with a rapidly growing, pigmented, polypoid melanoma on the scrotum.
