Abstract

Endoscopic ultrasonography is usually used in the diagnosis of subepithelial tumors but requires special equipment and expertise, which can be obstacles in some clinics. Transabdominal ultrasonography is an easily available diagnostic tool for diagnosing gastric subepithelial tumors. Hydroultrasonography can depict all five layers of the stomach wall. On ultrasonography, the gastric lipoma is recognized as a well demarcated hyperechoic mass mainly located in the submucosal layer. The ectopic pancreas is recognized as a well-demarcated, oval, heterogeneous, hypoechoic mass mainly located in the mucosal and submucosal layers. We diagnosed a lipoma and ectopic pancreas via abdominal ultrasonography after the patient drank water.
