Abstract

In order to study the variation in humoral immunity in the tuberculous patients, the authors collected 83 cases, and measured the amounts of serum proteins and their fractions by Biret method and electrophoresis, and the amounts of immune globulin (QUIP series, Helena laboratory Co.) The followings are ensued; 1. The amounts of protein, and alpha-l and-2 globulin of tuberculous patients were decreased up to the lower limits or below the control data. 2. According to the severity of the tuberculosis, there was tendency showing increase in the amounts of alpha-2, beta and gamma globulin. 3. According to the severity of tuberculosis, there was some tendency showing increase in the amount of IgG, M, A and D. 4. The increase in amounts of beta globulin and IgA was seemed to be favorable indicators for severity of tuberculosis.
