Study on the Normal Predicted Standards of Spirometry for Healthy Nonsmoking Korean Adults

Abstract

In an attempt to establish the normal predicted standards of pulmonary function tests, spirometric studies of 270 healthy nonsmoking men and women were contributed, which measured FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC, FEF 200-1,200 and FEF 25-75% derived from the forced expiratory flow and volume tests. These five parameters of ventilatory function tests disclosed negative correlatiön with age and positive correlations with height. And it was most marked in significance when using multiple. correlations including age and height. We here designed normal prediction formulas through the regression equations for these ventilatory measurements which were constructed upon age and height.
