Clinical Study of Endobronchial Tuberculosis

Abstract

A clinical study was carried out on 30 patients confirmed with endobronchial tuberculosis who have visited the Department of Internal Medicine, Han Yang University Hospita1 during the period from January to December 1982. The results were as follows: 1) Of the tota1 30 cases, 5(16.7%) cases were male and 25(83.3 %) cases were female, male to female ratio was 1: 5. Fourty percent of the cases belonged to the second decade. 2) The commonest symptom was cough, 56.7%, and chest pain, dyspnea, hemoptysis, and fever were presenting symptoms in order of their frequency. 3) The result of AFB stain positive for sputum was 16.7% and bronchial washing was 30%. 4) The patients with abnormal finding on posterior-anterior view of chest X-ray were 7(23.3%) cases. 5) The site of bronchial lesion on bronchoscopic examination were obtained following results in order of their fhequency.
