Abstract
- An aviation medical examiner is a designated representative of the government administrator with important duties and responsibilities. The purpose of the system of periodic physical examination is to evaluate medical conditions of flight safety significance and prevent incapacitation in the cockpit with potentially disastrous consequences to life and property. The aviation medical examination is important for flight safety. Medical examiners should have received training and demonstrate adequate competency in aviation medicine. The licensing authority needs to evaluate adequate competency of the aviation medical examiners.
