Abstract

Panner's disease, reported by Panner the first in 1929, is a rare disease among aseptic epiphyseal necroses. Two cases of Panner's disease in children are reported. Clinical diagnosis of these cases can be made by moderate pain, tenderness and swelling in the elbow as well as by restriction of joint motion. Radiographically there is an appearance of diffusely sclerotic with a submarginal radiolucent zone on the capitellum, there is the phenomenon of a "capitellum-within-a capitellum". Treatment consists of providing one child with a sling and the other with long arm splint during periods of discomfort.
