3 Cases of Pyogenic spondylitis

Abstract

Since Gibney mentioned typhoid spine complicated with typhoid fever in 1889, numerous investigators had reported pyogenic spondylitis. Wilensky was fully described about pyogenic spondylitis in 1929. The authors recently experienced three cases of pyogenic spondylitis. Surgical treatment was performed for 3 case, Bone graft was done for 2 cases of them, and for one case, curettage only was done. Pyogenic spondylitis was confirmed by culture of granulation tissue obtained from pathological lesion on surgical Treatment, Causative organism were para colon bacilli, Salmonella group D, and alpha hemolytic streptococci. Three cases of pyogenic spondylitis were reported with the review of Literature.
