Abstract

A 7-year-old Korean boy presenting with scalp papules was diagnosed with a tick bite through identification of a suspicious tick and histological findings. He had no specific history except visiting a pet café wherein he had spent several hours with cats. The tick found on his scalp was identified as Rhipicephalus sanguineus, which can transmit various pathogens to animals and humans. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of human Rhipicephalus sanguineus infestation in Korea.
