Metastatic pulmonalry calcification associated with malignant lymphoma: a case report

Abstract

Metastatic pulmonary calcification associated with hypercalcemia or renal failure is well known but isinfrequently diagnosed antemortem because of unsatisfactory radiographic detection of microscopic calcification. The bone scintigraphy may be a valuable adjunct to the diagnosis of metastatic pulmonary calcification. Theauthors report a case of metastatic pulmonary calcification associated with malignant lymphoma and renal failure, and characteristic scintigraphic pattern. The clinical, pathological and radiographical findings are reviewed.
