Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis

Abstract

Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis is rare, and information on its radiologic diagnosis is limited. Radiologicfindings of two patients with histologically proven xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis were reviewed. Sonographyand CT showed markedly thickened wall of gallbladder with stones, and poorly defined border of the underlyingliver. Radiologically, xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis may be regarded as a tumor-like conditions, so it shouldbe included in the differential diagnosis of gallbladder cancer.
