A study on the diagnosis of carcinoma of the stomach in Koreans (II)

Abstract

So called "early gastric carcinoma" is defined as the gastric carcinoma cofined in mucosa and submucosa of thestomach, regardless of its extension and metastasis, and its importance consists in its excellent prognosis.Therefore the early detection of this early gastric carcioma is the best measure to minimize the mortality fromgastric carcinoma until now and the roentgenologic study, gstroscopic examination, exfoliative cytology, andbiopsy are practisized for this purpose. Here four cases of early gastric carcinoma are presented, which werediagnosed with the roentgenographic and gastroscopic examination and were confirmed patholgically at SeoulNational University Hospital during recent two years, and the review of literatures is carried out.
