Arteriography of the adrenal tumors

Abstract

The arteriographic features of 6 cases of adrenal tumor were reviewed. Five of 6 adrenal tumors revealedmarked hypervascularity , while a ectopic pheochromocytoma appeared less vascular. One of two pheochromocytomashowed ectopic site of tumor without tumor in adrenal gland. The other one showed tumor in the right adrenal glandand right paravertebral portion of L3. Three adrenal cortical tumors, two carcinomas, and one adenoma, revealed norelation between the degree of increased vascularity and malignancy. One neuroblastoma revealed sand-likecalcifications in the simple film. Aortography must be obtained as a preliminary examination for detection oforigin of arteries and it's ectopic sites.
