Arteriovenous fistula, a complication of prolapsed lumbar disk surgery

Abstract

Arteriovenous fistula, a complication following operation for prolapsed lumbar disk in a 22 year old medicalstudent is reported with a review of literatures. He underwent lumbar disk surgery without eventful, but thrill onhis right lower quadrant back and abdomen, generalized edema, and dizziness were followed 2-3 after operation.Abdominal aortography for final diagnostic procedure revealed rapid passage of contrast medium into the inferiorvena through the right common iliac artery.
