The Treatment of Trochanteric Fractures in old Aged Persons: Overview

Abstract

In cases of unstable thoracolumbar burst fractures, recently the operative treatments such as The population of the old aged person in Korea has been increasing rapidly since 1960s, The proportion of over 65-aged person was 2.9% of total population in 1960s, but which has been increased rapidly to 5% in 1990 and is expected to 6.8% in 2000s. Therefore, according to the increasing number of osteoporosis, trochanteric fractures in old-aged group will be expected to increase rapidly. So we should give more attention to the further comprehensive treatment and classification of trochanteric fractures.
