Abstract

Hydroxyurea is frequently used to treat myeloproliferative syndromes such as chronic myelogenous leukemia. Cutaneous lesions mimicking those seen in dermatomyositis have been rarely reported in the course of treatment with hydroxyurea. A 44-year-old man was presented with erythematous papules and plaques including both extensor surface of his elbows and interphalangeal joints after long-term hydroxyurea therapy because of chronic myelogenous leukemia. There was no reported case of hydroxyurea-induced dermatomyositis-like eruption in the Korean literature.
