Abstract

We report on a very rare case of a left seminal vesicle abscess. The patient was a 57-year old male, admitted for the evaluation of dysuria, and with perineal discomfort that had lasted for 3days. One month before admission, he suffered from gonococcal urethritis. The abscess was detected by a pelvic CT, and transrectal ultrasonography. Escherichia coli were found as the causative agent. The abscess was successfully treated by a percutaneous transgluteal approach using pig-tail catheter drainage.
