Abstract

Dermatofibroma is a common benign cutaneous tumor that usually appears as a slowly growing firm nodule. Polypoid nodular dermatofibroma is one of special variants of dermatofibroma that can be rarely encountered. We reported an unusual case of polypoid dermatofibroma occurring on the right calf in a 34-year old korean male. The lesion was a red to brownish colored, rounded, hard protuberant tumor with short pedicle, measuring 2x2x1.5cm. Excised tumor showed a well- demarcated dermal lesion localized in the protruded area, and dense proliferation of fibroblasts.
