Abstract

Authors analysed 46 cases of internal Carotid-Posterior Communicating artery(IC-PC) Aneurysm operated at Hanyang University Hospital from March. 1985 to February, 1989. The results of analysis are summarized as follows : 1) Third nerve palsy was noted in 14 cases(30.4%) of IC-PC aneurysm and 10 cases(71%) were total and 4 cases(29%) were partial. 2) In partial ophthalmoplegia, internal ophthalmoplegia was more common than external ophthalmoplegia. 3) Development of ophthalmoplegia was thought to be correlated to direction and size of aneurysm rather than amount of SAH. 4) Recovery of ophthalmoplegia was determined by preoperative degree of ophthalmoplegia and timing of operation.
