Abstract
- Andrology is a part of medical science dealing with the physiology and pathology of the male reproductive system or andrological organs starting from the scrotum and its contents to the urethral meatus and penile preputial ring. It is thus a counterpart to gynecology. For a long time, andrology has been regarded as a medical science limited only to male sterility. This has been true in the past but with the rapid progress in the male reproductive tracts, the modern andrology now includes not only fertility problems but also diseases and dysfunctions of the entire male reproductive organs with the medical and surgical treatments of these organs.
