A Statistical Observation on Patients in the Department of Urology Seoul National University Hospital in I97O

Abstract

A Statistical observation was made on 4,242 out-patient and on 318 in-patients during the period from January 1 to December 31, 1970 in the Department of Urology, Seoul National University Hospital, College of .Medicine in reference to sex ratio, monthly and organ :distribution of various diseases of Cenitourinary tract and operative procedure. The following results were obtained. 1. Among the 4,242 cases of out-patients, 3,502 cases were male and 740 cases were female with ratio of 4.7.1. The most common diseases were chronic urethritis (8.79%), chronic prostatitis (8.39%) and redundant prepuce (7.19%) in order. 2. Among the 318 cases of in-patients, 243 cases were male and 75 cases were female with ratio 3. 2:1. The most common diseases were ureter stone (12.82%), bladder tumor (8,8%), renal tuberculosis (6.88%) and renal stone (6.88%) in order. 3. Of 318 in-patients, operation was done in 191 cases(60.1%). 4. Of 191 operation, cases ureterolithotomy(17.00%) was the most common operation and nephrectomy (16.2%), transurethral electrocoagulation(4.7%) and rethral repair by interlocking sound(4.3%) in order.
