Abstract

Urethrorectal fistula is fortunately uncommon, but is one of the most difficult problems a surgeon is called upon to treat. The causes of urethrorectal fistula are congenital, trauma including of course surgical intervention, inflammations, and destructive ulceration at times associated with malignant growths. Congenital varieties are seen frequently with such anomalies as atresia or imperforate anus or rectum. A case of operative repair of congenital urethrorectal fistula in a 10 year old is presented, and reported, with a review of the literature.
