Abstract

Herpes zoster is an infection by varicella virus in dorsal root ganglia or extramedullary cranial nerve ganglia and characterized by a variety of neurocutaneous manifestations. The association of herpes zoster and neurogenic bladder dysfunction is not a common complication, due presumptly to interruption of the micturition reflex arc. A case of herpes zoster causing neurogenic bladder is presented.
