Abstract

Actinomycosis is a chronic suppurative granulomatous disease caused by anaerobic Gram-positive actinomyces. Actinomycosis of the genitourinary tract is seen rarely by urologist. Here, we report a 61-year-old man, who had come to emergency room presenting with lower abdominal pain, and undergone diagnostic laparotomy with presumptive diagnosis of peritoneal abscess or panperitonitis with bladder mass. Multiple omental mass excision and partial cystectomy were preformed. Pathological examination revealed actinomycosis. Patient was given penicillin injections and medications. One-year follow-up, revealed no evidence of relapse.
