Abstract

According to the psychoanalytical idea that music has significant influence on human mind, music affects the consciousness, preconsiousness and unconsciousness. It structurally influences the id, ego and superego. Based on these findings, the author reviewed the life and work of Beethoven and Freud and investigated the following issues: 1) What were the developmental processes of the figures?; 2) How did the educational processes affect their works?; 3) What were the basic attitudes towards themselves and others?; 4) What were their final psychological and social achievements? Beethoven and Freud had physically, psychologically and socially hard times during their developmental processes. However, they could achieve mature development in the process of overcoming the challenges. Both of them were voracious books readers, which helped them obtain wider range of perspectives on human being and introspect deeply into their mind. They were common in being able to achieve Gegensatzvereinigung and integrate life and death into one unified concept at the same time, thereby attaining the eternaty.
