The results were as follows: 1) Among total 76.339 regular students. 73. 057 were examined. (1963-1972) The average response rate was 95.7%. The rate varied from 86. 9% to 99. 7% annually. 2) The average prevalence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis in freshmen was 1.3% (1963-1972) The rate varied from 0.9% to 1. 8% indiherent years. A slight gradual decrease was revea1ed. 1967. 3) The average annual incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis among regular students 0. 5% . from 1965 to 1972. The rate varied from 0.4% to 0.8%. There was no c1 ear trend. The average prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis among regular students was 2.1%: 1963 to 1972. It varied from 1. 6% to 2. 6%. 4) The incidence rate was the lowest among freshmen admitted in the last 3 years(1970-1972) That is. 0. 4% and highest for sophomores ie. 0. 7%. Similarly, the highest prevalence rate in freshmen ie. 1. 8% was lower than that of seniors ie. 2. 6% which was the highest. These data show a higher mordidity of disease during college years than before entrance to college. 5) Some differences in thes rates were also observed by different colleges in the University.
