A Study on Liver Function Tests of Newly Admitted Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients

Abstract

Out of 603 pulmonary tuberculosis patients who werer newly admitted to National Masan Hospital from January to September 1977, 225 cases were randomly selected and their liver function test result were analyzed. Among 145 patients, 24 showed increased BSP. Increased SGOT was found in 77 cases (35 %) .among 225 patients, SGPT 40 cases or 17%, TTT 89 cases or 39%. Protein contents were increased in 7 (3%); increased albumin in 9(4%) and decreased albumin in 32 cases (14%) . Elevated total birilubin level were seen in 2 cases (1%), and the direct bilirubin 24 cases (11%). AlkaIine phosphatase were increased in 51 cases (23%).
