A Case of Sarcoidosis

Abstract

The patient was 50 years old female with complaint of dry coughing and visual disturbance. Chest radiogram showed bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy and parenchymal infiltration in both lower lung field. Transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB) showed characteristic noncaseating epitheloid granuloma. Tuberculin skin test with PPD was negative. Sputum smear for AFB was negative for 7 times. There were elevation in s-ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) and total energy in skin test and compatible clinical picture with sarcoidosis. So, she was diagnosed of stage II sarcoidosis and improved dramatically by steroid therapy.
