Clinical Observation on 14 Cases of Fracture of Neck of the Talus

Abstract
- A clinical review and analysis were made on 14 cases of Talus neck fracture treated at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Daegu Presbyterian Hospital from January 1966 to May 1973. 1. Among 14 patients, there were 11 males and 3 females and the average was 30. 5 year old. 2. Most of the injuries were results of falling accident, and automobile accident which was next in common. 3. Three of the 14 patients were combined with medial malleoli fracture in the same side. 4. According to Hawkins, fracture of the neck of the Talus was classified into group I, II, III. There were 8 in group II, 5 group III, 1 group I. 5. Author's modified Blair fusion was primarily indicated in group III and severe comminuted, fracture of group II. and also indicated in all avascular necrotic group after fracture. 6. Avascular necrosis, degenerative arthritis, infection, shortening and equinovarus deformity were noted as complication of Talus neck fracture.
