Congenital Diastasis of the Inferior Tibiofibular Joint: Report of Two Cases

Abstract

Congenital inferior tibiofibular diastasis is a rare condition of unknown etiology which was first described only in 1972(Tuli). This condition is thought to be a form of tibial hypoplasia, marked by a clinical triad of talipes equinovarus, ankle diastasis, and limb length inequality. The authors could experience two cases of the condition diagnosed at birth and have followed up for 6 years and 2 years, respectively. Clinical details of these cases are to be reported with review of references.
