  Figure 1 Treatment flowchart for dry eye syndrome. Dry eye syndrome can be categorized to aqueous deficient dry syndrome or evaporative dry eye syndrome by lipid layer, eyelid margin and meibography. For evaporative dry eye syndrome, if meibomian gland loss is severe in meibography, lipid containing eyedrop should be prescribed but if meibomian gland loss is minimal, eyelid heating and massage should be done.
