CT diagnosis of meniscal lesions of the knee

Abstract

The knees of 31 patients with evidence of meniscal abnormalities were examined with high resolution computedtomography (HRCT) immediately following double contrast arthrography. The results were as follows: 1. The anatomyof the menisci and surrounding structures was clearly outlined. 2. Menisci were well differentiated from poplitealtendon fossa and popliteal cyst. 3. The relationship of torn meniscal fragments were well visualized. 4. Meniscalcyst was well visualized. 5. Peripheral tear was well differentiated from synovial recess in coronal and sagittalreformation views.
