Extraction of esophageal foreign bodies using biliary stone basket

Abstract

Esophageal foreign body remoal using biliary stone basket of food bolus in strictured esophagud, especially inpatients with multiple or diffuse(type) strictures caused by previous corrosive esophagitis. This precedure can beperformed without general anesthesia and without hospitalization. We successfully removed 13 of 14 esophageal foreign bodies in patients wtih esophageal stricture using biliary stone basket, and this is our base of this report.
