A case of esophageal cavernous hemangioma

Abstract

Hemangiomas of the gastrointestinal tract are rare lesions, and hemangiomas of the esophagus are extremelyrare. Govoni, reviewing the literature until 1982, found only 57 cases of hemangiomas of the esophagus. We reporta case of esophageal cavernous hemangioma found in a 41-year-old Korean man who had occasional dysphagia and chestdiscomfort. The literature, etiology, clinical and radiologic findings, and therapeutic approach are reviewed anddiscussed.
