A case of coaretation of the aorta associated with the patent ductus arteriosus and the persistent leftsuperior vena cava

Abstract

This is a case report of multiple congenital vascular anomalies in which coarctation of the aorta combinedwith the patent ductus arteriosus and the persistent left superior vena cava. The patient was a 15 year old girland congenital heart disease was suspected during infancy. However, she heart the disease incurable, so she hadbeen well with herb medicine until admission in our hospital. By physical examination and roentgenological studiesincluding aortography, the diagnosis of the patent ductus arteriosus was detected and the coarctation of the aortawas suspected. The persistent left superior vena cava was found during surgery and it was provedroentgenologically by venography.
