A Case of Drug Eruption Induced by Various Cephalosporin Antibiotics

Abstract

The risk of allergic reactions to different cephalosporins in a patient with a history of allergy to 1 cephalosporin is not well known. Previous studies have suggested that the degree of cross-reactivity among cephalosporins may be low. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no report on allergic reactions to various types of cephalosporins in the Korean population. We describe herein a patient presenting with morbilliform rashes induced by ceftriaxone, cefotaxime and cefpodoxime.
