Abstract

The unicornuate uterus with a rudimentary horn is a very rare congenital anomaly of the female genital system. We have experienced a case of an unicornuate uterus with a left non-communicating functional rudimentary horn associated with agenesis of an ipsilateral kidney, progressive dysmenorrhea, hematometra, hematosalpinx and extensive endometriosis in a 13-year-old girl and treated by laparoscopy. We report this case with relevant literatures.

  • Fig. 1 Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging showed hematometra of left rudimentary horn, left hematosalpinx and left endometriosis. Ut, right unicornuate uterus; Lt., left; horn, rudimentary horn.

  • Fig. 2 Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging showed right unicornuate uterus, hematometra of left noncommunucating rudimentary horn. Lt. horn, left rudimentary horn.

  • Fig. 3 Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging showed left hematosalpinx and left endometriosis. Lt., left; endo, endometriosis.
