Social Support for Diabetes Patients

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic disease whose management requires not only patient effort, but also social support from family, diabetes educator, and community. The social support is considered to be important for patients, and active coping strategies for tasks of daily life help in diabetes management. By understanding social support for diabetes patient, diabetes educators will be able to contribute to improving their quality of life and help patients deal with the difficulties of their disease.
