Abstract
- Myasthenia gravis (MG), one of the autoimmune diseases, is occasionally associated with various other autoimmune diseases. Although thyroid disease is most frequently associated with MG, the case of MG with Hashimoto's thyroiditis has been scarcely reported. We report a case of a 72-year-old female with MG, which coexisted with Hashimoto's thyroiditis by diffuse thyroid enlargement, anti-thyroglobulin and anti-microsomal antibodies. This coexistence supports that MG is associated with other autoimmune diseases and we suggest that a complete antibody test be performed especially in the elderly with MG.
