Abstract

Forehead osteoma is an uncommon bone tumor, but easily diagnosed by radiologic and clinical examinations. A patient presented at the dermatologic clinic with a forehead osteoma and was expecting simple surgical treatment to improve cosmetic appearance. However, an extremely skilled dermatologic surgeon with experience in endoscopic surgery and manipulation of bone cutters is required to achieve a good result. We report a case of forehead osteoma which was easily removed by a new surgical technique. After minimal incision and gentle undermining of surface skin, the osteoma was removed using CO2 laser therapy. This treatment technique is simple, blood-less and can easily be conducted without special equipment.
