Abstract

According to the results of the NTSB accident investigation, around 20% to 40% of transportation accidents are caused by fatigue. The fatigue can degrade the physical and psychological ability to recognize the threats. The fatigue also affects the management of the errors especially during take-off and landing. It is difficult to determine the fatigue is one of the causal factors during the accident investigation, because it is not easy to measure fatigue before and after the accident. In this study, the effect of fatigue and the fatigue risk management will be discussed in order to understand the seriousness of fatigue.
